Job summary

Fawkes & Reece London is seeking an experienced Senior Site Manager to take the lead as No1 on a £5m new build leisure project near West Cowes on the Isle of Wight. The role runs for about six months with potential for ongoing work in the region.

You will report to the Contracts Manager and be responsible for all site-based construction activities, client liaison, design information reviews, RFIs/TQs, short-term programming, and ensuring safety, quality, and handover readiness.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of site management experience on small to mid-sized main contractor projects.
• Trades background with strong organisational and people management skills.
• SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid certificates are essential.
• Ability to plan ahead, identify issues and ensure first-time-right delivery.
• Eligibility to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

About this Role

Experienced Senior Site Manager take the lead role as No1 on a £5m new build leisure project near West Cowes. This is a two storey steel framed building predominantly shell and core with client fit out plus a large are of external works. The building once completed will provide mixed leisure facilities.

Reporting to the visiting Contracts Manager you will be responsible for managing all site-based construction activities; You will have responsibility for regular client liaison, review of construction design information and raising RFIs/TQs, short-term programming of works, overall safe and successful delivery of all phases of the construction on site ensuring company health and safety standards are achieved and enforced, review of method statements, risk assessments, site logistics, quality control, implementation of inspection and test plans, sub-contractor coordination meetings, reporting on progress against programmes, issue resolution, etc, snagging and handover.

Works will commence on site next for a 6 month duration. There is a good pipeline of ongoing work in the area predominantly new build and refurbishment projects in the bespoke residential sector.

Requirements including certificates and qualifications

• The successful candidate will be experienced, technically knowledgeable and proactive, ideally from a trades background, demonstrating strong organisational, practical, man-management and communication skills.
• A proven track record of 5-10 years of working for a small main contractor would be advantageous.
• You will ideally come from a trades background with a sharp eye for detail and quality throughout.
• You will be forward thinking and resourceful, possessing the ability to plan ahead, identify and resolve issues, work well within a team, see the big picture, with a positive, 'get it right first time' approach.
• You will possess your SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid qualifications for this role.
