Job summary

Avocet Ltd. in Abingdon, Oxon, is seeking an experienced Site Manager to lead a major residential development of up to 350 homes from early stages to completion.

Reporting to the Construction Manager, you’ll supervise subcontractors, maintain health and safety, ensure programme and quality, and work with commercial and technical teams to handover completed properties.

Qualifications

• Residential housing development experience required.
• Strong understanding of construction programmes and sequencing.
• Experience managing subcontractors and trades; safety-minded.

£70,000 – £75,000 + package | Permanent

We’re working with a well-established residential developer on a major new development in Abingdon, and they’re looking to appoint an experienced Site Manager to kick of this new community development of high quality houses.

The development will deliver a significant new community, including up to 350 new homes, alongside associated infrastructure, landscaping, open space and community facilities.

This is a great opportunity for a Site Manager who enjoys being hands-on and wants to be involved in a sizeable residential development from the early stages through to completion.

The Role

Reporting into the Construction Manager, you’ll take responsibility for the day-to-day management of the site, ensuring the development is delivered safely, on programme and to the required quality standards.

You’ll be responsible for:

About You

We’re looking for an experienced Site Manager with a background in residential housebuilding and a good understanding of traditional construction methods.

You’ll ideally have:

• Previous experience managing residential housing developments
• A strong understanding of construction programmes and sequencing
• Experience managing subcontractors and trades
• Excellent health & safety awareness
• Good quality control and attention to detail
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• SMSTS
• CSCS
• First Aid
