Job summary

Murphy is recruiting for a Senior Engineer to work with Energy on the 4YX OHL Route (Between Cardiff and Severn Beach).

Our team delivers design, construction and commissioning across EPC projects in the energy transition market. The role emphasises health, safety, environmental governance, and coordination with clients, designers and the supply chain to ensure accurate information and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• Experience in Construction or Civil Engineering projects.
• Experience with ITPs, RAMs & Temporary Works.
• Excellent knowledge of current civil engineering legislation and Health & Safety rules.
• Ability to discuss engineering issues with people across levels and disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Establish and promote best practice in health, safety and environmental matters in conjunction with the SHQE department.
• Assist with temporary works design schemes.
• Maintain good working relations with client / designer / Team, together with our supply chain.
• Advise engineers on setting out methods and techniques.
• Ensure drawings and specifications contain sufficient information for construction and request missing data timely.
• Communicate with foremen and Supervisors to ensure understanding.
• Oversee selection and requisition of materials and plant.
• Prepare risk assessments and method statements for control of works.
• Keep a full daily site diary with changes/variations and records of discussions.
• Ensure inspection and test plans are completed as required.
