Job summary

Caval in Sheffield is seeking a Senior Site Engineer to lead setting-out, engineering control and quality on a £15m town improvements project. You will coordinate and mentor the site engineering team, working closely with the Site Agent, commercial team and subcontractors to ensure delivery.

The role requires NVQ Level 3 or higher, SMSTS, CSCS, and advanced setting-out experience. There is a strong focus on health and safety, leadership, and timely reporting, with excellent training, pension,

Responsibilities

• Support the Site Agent with project and resource planning.
• Coordinate site engineering activities and resources.
• Write and review Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
• Ensure engineering checks, hold points, inspections and tests are correctly implemented.
• Manage and mentor junior site engineers.
• Coordinate subcontractors and engineering activities.
• Ensure works comply with drawings and project requirements.
• Maintain site diaries and quality assurance documentation.
• Maintain communication with the commercial team for accurate reporting.
• Promote a safe working environment.
• Identify and resolve technical issues.

Role Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Engineer to join a leading UK principal contractor on a £15m Sheffield town improvements project.

The successful candidate will take responsibility for setting out, engineering control and quality, while coordinating and mentoring the site engineering team. You will work closely with the Site Agent, commercial team, subcontractors and wider project team to ensure the successful delivery of the works.

Key Requirements

• NVQ Level 3 or higher
