Job summary

Apex Resources Ltd is seeking an experienced Senior Site Engineer for nights to lead setting out and surveying activities on major civil projects in the UK. You will manage GPS/total station operations, maintain survey records and ensure quality and safety standards across the works.

The role requires strong communication, independent management of engineering tasks, and collaboration with project teams to deliver high-value schemes on time and within specs.

Qualifications

• Experience as Senior Site Engineer or ready to step up.
• Strong setting out experience within civil engineering, infrastructure or heavy civils projects.
• Experience on earthworks, drainage, reinforced concrete structures, highways or utilities.
• Proficient with Leica, Trimble or equivalent surveying equipment.
• Strong QA procedures, inspections and as-built documentation.

Responsibilities

• Carry out accurate setting out using GPS and total station equipment.
• Establish and maintain survey control across site.
• Complete as-built surveys and maintain engineering records.
• Ensure works are delivered in accordance with drawings, specifications and project requirements.
• Oversee quality assurance processes, inspections and documentation.
• Review technical drawings and identify engineering issues or design discrepancies.
• Liaise with site management, subcontractors and design teams to ensure smooth project delivery.
• Mentor and support Site Engineers and junior engineering staff.
• Promote and maintain the highest standards of health, safety and quality on site.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Site Engineer to join a leading civil engineering contractor delivering major infrastructure and heavy civils projects across the UK.

This role offers the chance to work on complex, high-value schemes alongside experienced project teams, taking responsibility for all engineering and setting out activities while ensuring projects are delivered safely, accurately and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out accurate setting out using GPS and total station equipment.

Requirements of Senior Site Engineer

• Previous experience as a Senior Site Engineer or an experienced Site Engineer ready to step up.
• Strong setting out experience within civil engineering, infrastructure or heavy civils projects.
• Experience working on projects involving earthworks, drainage, reinforced concrete structures, highways or utilities.
• Competent using Leica, Trimble or equivalent surveying equipment.
• Strong understanding of QA procedures, inspections and as-built documentation.
• Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage engineering activities independently while supporting the wider project team.

Qualifications

• Degree, HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering.
• Valid CSCS Card.
• SMSTS (desirable).
• Full UK Driving Licence.
