Laing O'Rourke is recruiting a Senior Site Engineer to join the Kiln Lane Substation project as part of the Great Grid Partnership. You will lead on-site engineering activities, ensuring safety, quality and programme delivery on a nationally significant infrastructure programme.

Laing O’Rourke is recruiting a Senior Site Engineer to join our team at Kiln Lane Substation, part of the Great Grid Partnership. This nationally significant programme is helping to strengthen the UK’s electricity transmission network and support the transition to a more sustainable future.
You will play an important role in supporting the safe and successful delivery of construction activities. You’ll work closely with project teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and client stakeholders to ensure work is completed to the highest standards of quality, safety, and performance.
You will support the planning, coordination, and delivery of site activities while providing technical expertise and guidance across your area of responsibility. Working as part of a collaborative project team, your responsibilities will include:
We’re interested in hearing from candidates who have experience working on major infrastructure, power, utilities, civil engineering, or construction projects.
You’ll hold a degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent engineering qualification and have a strong understanding of construction delivery within complex project environments. We are particularly interested in candidates who have experience managing and mentoring teams of Site Engineers, coordinating multiple work fronts, and driving safe, efficient delivery on site.
You’ll bring strong technical knowledge, effective communication skills, and the ability to build positive working relationships with a range of stakeholders. Experience managing subcontractors, reviewing engineering documentation, and supporting project delivery from planning through to completion will be highly beneficial.
