Job summary

Balfour Beatty Highways is recruiting a Senior Site Ecologist for the M3 Junction 9 project. You will work with the Ecology Technical Specialist and project leads to deliver ecological requirements and manage plans on site.

You will lead investigations, provide pragmatic ecological guidance to operational teams, and ensure compliance with legislation while supporting regulators and clients. A full driving licence and willingness to travel are essential.

Qualifications

• Must have strong ecological management and mitigation knowledge.
• Understanding of ecological legislation for development.
• Genuine commercial awareness and ability to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Report to the Ecology Technical Specialist and project leads.
• Lead on delivery of project ecological requirements.
• Develop and implement ecological management plans.
• Build and maintain relationships with regulators, clients and design teams.
• Coach construction teams on applying controls and mitigations.
• Maintain the environmental management system and stay compliant with standards.
