Job summary

SSE is seeking a Lead Site Construction Manager to head the construction team on a major project in Scotland. Based from Perth, Inverness or Aberdeen, you will lead site activities, ensure safety, quality and programme adherence, and manage recruitment and development of construction staff.

The role requires driving on-site leadership across multiple sites with NEC contract experience and CDM compliance, plus travel to project sites.

Qualifications

• Experience leading large multidisciplinary infrastructure projects.
• Familiarity with NEC contract forms and NEC supervisor role.
• Knowledge of health and safety legislation and CDM 2015 Regulations.
• Site qualifications (CSCS/EUSR/NEBOSH/IOSH/SMSTS) desirable; equivalent experience accepted.
• Willingness to travel and be on site with full driving license.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to the Construction team ensuring site activities are safe, on programme and to quality standards.
• Recruit, onboard and develop Construction team members to meet portfolio requirements.
• Define roles and responsibilities for Construction team members and monitor contractor performance.
• Collaborate with other Lead Construction Managers to raise standards and produce work instructions.
• Support project managers in resource planning and risk capture.
