Job summary

VolkerStevin, part of VolkerWessels UK, is recruiting a Site Agent to lead a major National Grid transmission/substation project in the UK, ensuring safety, quality and on-time delivery. You will coordinate civil engineering, construction and supply chain teams on live substations, implement NEC3/NEC4 contract processes, and provide visible leadership on site.

This role demands a proactive construction leader with a degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management and membership in

Qualifications

• Significant experience leading site delivery on large infrastructure or energy projects.
• Experience in live 275kV/400kV substations.
• Familiar with National Grid safety rules and assurance frameworks.
• Membership with ICE, CIOB or APM is preferred.
• IOSH or NEBOSH health and safety qualifications.
• Strong planning, programme management and leadership skills.
• Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and build relationships.

Responsibilities

• Own safety, schedule, cost and quality of a major section of works on a substation project.
• Coordinate engineering, construction, supply chain and QA teams on site.
• Ensure delivery on programme and to high standards.
• Lead on-site collaboration with stakeholders and manage on-site risks.
