Job summary

VolkerStevin, part of VolkerWessels UK, is hiring an experienced Site Agent to lead major National Grid transmission and substation projects across the UK. You will take ownership of safety, on-time delivery, and cost-effective performance on site, coordinating engineering, construction and supply chain teams.

You should have a civil engineering qualification and significant site experience, including work in live substation environments, with strong leadership and a solid knowledge of NEC

Qualifications

• A degree, HNC or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline.
• Significant experience as a Site Agent or senior delivery professional on major infrastructure or energy projects.
• Experience in live 275kV or 400kV substation environments.
• Knowledge of National Grid safety rules and assurance frameworks.
• Professional membership with ICE, CIOB or APM.
• Temporary Works Coordinator and/or Appointed Person competence.
• IOSH or NEBOSH health and safety qualifications.
• Strong understanding of NEC3/NEC4 contracts and change management processes.
• SMSTS and CSCS/EUSR card.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of safe, efficient and commercially successful delivery of major works or multiple work packages on a substation project.
• Provide visible leadership on site and coordinate engineering, construction, supply chain and quality teams.
• Ensure projects are delivered on programme and to the highest standards, while managing stakeholders.
