Job summary

VolkerStevin, part of VolkerWessels UK, is seeking a proactive Sub Agent to join our team and help deliver a major National Grid substation project. You will take ownership of key work packages and work with the Project Manager and Site Agent to deliver complex civil, structural and electrical interface works.

You'll lead engineers, supervisors and supply chain partners to meet programme, budget and quality expectations, while maintaining a safe and collaborative project environment on site.

Qualifications

• Degree, HNC, or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline.
• Proven experience as a Sub Agent, Senior Engineer or similar role on major infrastructure, utilities or energy projects.
• SMSTS certification and CSCS management card.
• Temporary Works Supervisor competence and First Aid at Work qualification.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineers, supervisors and supply chain partners to safely deliver complex civil, structural and electrical interface works to programme, budget and quality.
• Collaborate with Project Manager and Site Agent to own key work packages on a major project.
• Maintain safe, efficient delivery in a fast-paced environment and ensure compliance with RAMS, ITPs and subcontractor management.

As our portfolio continues to grow, we’re looking for a motivated Sub Agent to join our team and help deliver a major National Grid substation project. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of key work packages on high-profile schemes that will help power communities and businesses for generations to come.

Working alongside the Project Manager and Site Agent, you’ll lead engineers, supervisors and supply chain partners to safely deliver complex civil, structural and electrical interface works to programme, budget and quality expectations.

About You

We’re looking for a proactive and collaborative construction professional who thrives in a fast-paced project environment and enjoys leading teams to achieve exceptional results.

You’ll Bring

• A Degree, HNC, or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline.
• Proven experience as a Sub Agent, Senior Engineer or similar role within major infrastructure, utilities or energy projects.
• SMSTS certification.
• Relevant CSCS or EUSR CSCS management card.
• Temporary Works Supervisor competence.
• First Aid at Work qualification (or equivalent).
• Strong experience managing programmes, RAMS, ITPs, subcontractors and project change.

It Would Be Advantageous If You Also Have

• Experience working on National Grid or high-voltage substation projects.
• Knowledge of NEC3/NEC4 contracts and compensation event processes.
• Temporary Works Coordinator qualification.
• Experience managing lifting operations.
• Experience delivering projects within live operational environments and planned outage programmes.
