Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Service Engineer based in Kempston, Bedford. You will be part of a respected technical team, working on power-related electronic equipment, with a focus on electrical maintenance, fault-finding, and commissioning.

This role involves working with static inverters, aviation ground power units, fixed power, and battery GPUs. The candidate should have extensive knowledge of 415V and 200V x 400Hz power systems and 28V TRU systems.

Responsibilities

• Represent AES during customer site visits.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Prepare for site visits by completing RAMS and understanding customer requirements.
• Diagnose faults using technical expertise and diagnostic tools.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders to maintain service quality.
• Maintain cleanliness of work areas, tools, and vehicles.
• Sign off on repaired units at workshop or customer sites.

Candidate Profile

• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation/Maintenance or BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
• Full UK Driving License.
• Ability to interpret electrical drawings.
• Proficiency with electrical testing equipment.
• 2-3 years’ experience in a similar role or related experience with Ground Power Units and Ground Support Equipment.
