Job summary

Build Recruitment is seeking an experienced Service Manager to lead the Repairs & Maintenance team in Crewe. You will manage an area-based team delivering responsive repairs with a hybrid working model (office, on-site and home).

The role requires hands-on trade background with NVQ Level 3, strong leadership, knowledge of building construction, safety legislation and sub-contractor management. Salary £50,000–£50,400 p.a. plus van and fuel card.

Qualifications

• Hands-on trade experience with NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
• Proven experience leading operational teams in repairs.
• Knowledge of building construction, social housing repairs and safety legislation.
• Experience of sub-contractor management.
• Experience using repairs management information systems.
• Excellent communication and people management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop an operational repairs team delivering a customer-focused responsive repairs service.
• Apply up-to-date knowledge of building construction, maintenance, repairs and safety legislation.
• Performance manage operatives to meet high standards.
• Oversee sub-contractor management and delivery.
• Use repairs management information systems to monitor performance and drive improvements.
• Stay ahead of housing sector best practice and relevant legislation.
