Job summary

Veolia in Portsmouth is seeking a hands-on operations professional to manage service delivery and oversee a team of drivers and coordinators. The role requires coordinating routes, liaising with customers, and ensuring safety and regulatory compliance on-site.

A UK driving licence and experience in waste/transport/logistics are essential. The role offers 40 hours per week, with occasional Saturday shifts on a rota basis and bank holidays, plus a competitive salary up to £38,000 per annum and a

• Good communication skills with people at all levels including drivers, frontline staff and customers
• Ability to organise a busy workload and operate at a fast pace
• UK Driving licence
• Previous experience operating within waste/transport/logistics
• Understanding of transport compliance and WTD

Responsibilities

• Day-to-day management of service delivery, including the dynamic allocation of work to vehicles/routes
• Communicating with customers and stakeholders, providing status updates and maintaining contact with drivers
• Managing completion of all debriefs with front-line staff and reporting necessary actions or updates as required
• Face-to-face engagement with drivers, supporting them to address any issues on the route
• Reporting of all safety concerns or container damage and encouraging 'stop the job' if it is deemed unsafe to continue
• Supporting Operations Manager with Veolia legal compliance on-site (WTD, O'licence and transport compliance)
• Responsible for driving continuous improvement on KPI performance.
• Being responsible for direct reporting line for all drivers and Service Coordinators

Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week 8:30am - 5pm + Saturdays on a rota basis and Bank holidays (These are at additional pay)
