Job summary

Veolia is seeking a Senior Service Coordinator in Portsmouth to oversee daily service delivery and route allocation. You will keep drivers informed, coordinate with customers, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.

The role offers a structured 40-hour week, with Saturday work on a rota and bank holidays paid as additional hours. A clear path for development and pension arrangements are provided.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills across levels, including drivers and customers.
• Ability to organise a busy workload and operate at a fast pace.
• UK Driving Licence is required.
• Experience in waste/transport/logistics and understanding of transport compliance and WTD.

Responsibilities

• Day-to-day management of service delivery and allocation of work to vehicles and routes.
• Communicating with customers and stakeholders and providing status updates.
• Managing debriefs with frontline staff and reporting actions as needed.
• Face-to-face engagement with drivers to address route issues.
• Report safety concerns or container damage and stop the job if unsafe.
• Support Operations Manager with on-site Veolia compliance (WTD, O-licence).
• Drive continuous improvement on KPI performance.
• Direct reporting line for drivers and Service Coordinators.

Senior Service Coordinator

Salary: Up to £38,000 per annum plus performance bonus, Veolia benefits and pension
Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week 8:30am - 5pm + Saturdays on a rota basis and Bank holidays (These are at additional pay)
Location: Portsmouth

What you'll be doing;

• Day-to-day management of service delivery, including the dynamic allocation of work to vehicles/routes
• Communicating with customers and stakeholders, providing status updates and maintaining contact with drivers
• Managing completion of all debriefs with front-line staff and reporting necessary actions or updates as required
• Face-to-face engagement with drivers, supporting them to address any issues on the route
• Reporting of all safety concerns or container damage and encouraging 'stop the job' if it is deemed unsafe to continue
• Supporting Operations Manager with Veolia legal compliance on-site (WTD, O'licence and transport compliance)
• Responsible for driving continuous improvement on KPI performance.
• Being responsible for direct reporting line for all drivers and Service Coordinators

What we're looking for;

Essential:

• Good communication skills, including communicating with people of all levels, including drivers, frontline employees and customers
• Ability to organise a busy workload and operate at a fast pace
• UK Driving licence
• Previous experience operating within a similar industry, waste/transport/logistics
• Able to demonstrate an understanding of transport compliance and WTD
