Job summary

IC Resources is representing a client in Hampshire, England, seeking a Senior Validation Engineer to validate high-speed SerDes PHYs and MDA silicon products. You will contribute to the validation of advanced high-speed links, and develop Python-based automation in a hands-on lab setting.

The role focuses on post-silicon validation, with opportunities to influence test methodologies, instrument a modern lab, and work on leading-edge space-technology hardware.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
• Strong experience in chip and system validation, particularly involving analogue, RF and high-speed communication blocks.
• Solid knowledge of SerDes/time-domain high-speed links and associated test equipment.
• Programming experience in Python, C/C++ or similar, ideally within an automated test environment.
• Hands‑on experience with RF test equipment such as spectrum analysers, VNAs/PNAs, signal generators, power meters and high-speed sampling oscilloscopes.

Responsibilities

• Validating high-speed SerDes PHYs, including link bring-up and equalisation tuning.
• Developing and executing chip and system test plans across PVT, data rates and bandwidths.
• Performing laboratory measurements using equipment such as high-speed oscilloscopes.
• Developing Python-based test automation and supporting CI methodologies.
• Contributing to the evolution of product quality through robust validation methodologies and test processes.
