Job summary

Long Term Futures is recruiting an experienced SENDCO to lead SEND provision across a Derby primary school. The role includes coordinating assessments, EHCPs and annual reviews, with potential nursery oversight. Strong SEND knowledge and a NASENCO/NPQ for SENCOs or QTS are essential.

The post offers a long-term/permanent opportunity with weekly pay during temporary placement and dedicated consultant support through the recruitment process. Derby-based role in DE23 area.

Qualifications

• NASENCO qualification or NPQ for SENCOs or equivalent SENDCO qualification is essential.
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant professional qualification.
• Experience leading or coordinating SEND provision and strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate SEND provision across the primary school.
• Oversee identification, assessment and ongoing support of pupils with additional needs.
• Manage EHCPs, SEND support plans, provision maps and targets.
• Coordinate annual reviews and statutory SEND processes.
• Ensure provision meets SEND Code of Practice requirements.
• Monitor pupil progress and evaluate intervention impacts.
• Support teachers and teaching assistants with guidance and coaching.
• Maintain strong communication with parents/carers about pupil provision.
• Liaise with Educational Psychologists, SALT and local authority services.
• Support transitions between Early Years and primary phases, and nursery oversight if applicable.
• Contribute to school improvement and inclusive practice.
