Job summary

Milk Education is recruiting a Teaching Assistant for a Specialist SEND School in Camberley starting September. You’ll support students with diverse needs on a 1:1 and small-group basis, helping deliver personalised learning activities and interventions.

You’ll collaborate with teachers and a multidisciplinary team, promote a calm inclusive environment, and help with emotional regulation and communication. A Level 2/3 qualification and an enhanced DBS are desirable.

Qualifications

• Recent experience in a school, SEND setting or education environment is desirable.
• Experience supporting children with Autism, SEMH, ADHD or learning difficulties is desirable.
• Solid numeracy and literacy skills.
• Level 2/3 qualification in childcare, education, health and social care or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Comfortable taking direction from teaching staff and working collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
• Patient, resilient and empathetic approach to diverse learning needs.
• Enhanced DBS on update service or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Supporting students one-to-one and in small groups, addressing individual SEND needs.
• Delivering personalised learning activities and interventions for academic, social and emotional development.
• Working with teachers and professionals to adapt lessons for varied learning needs.
• Promoting a calm, inclusive learning environment where every student feels safe and valued.
• Supporting emotional regulation, communication and positive behaviour strategies.
