Job summary

Remedy Education in Brentwood is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant primary & secondary SEN school. This full-time, long-term role starts ASAP, with ongoing support from a dedicated consultant and the potential for a permanent position.

You will provide 1:1 and small group support across primary and secondary classes, assist with communication and EHCP targets, and help maintain a calm, structured learning environment that promotes independence and social development.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEN, ASD, ADHD or complex needs.
• Calm, patient and resilient approach.
• Confident supporting non-verbal or limited communication pupils.
• Willing to support personal care where needed.
• Strong team player with a proactive attitude.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).

Responsibilities

• Providing 1:1 and small group support across primary and secondary classes
• Supporting communication, emotional regulation and engagement in learning
• Following EHCP targets and individual support plans
• Assisting with personal care where required
• Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and external professionals
• Helping maintain a calm, structured and positive learning environment
• Encouraging independence, confidence and social development
