Veritas Education Recruitment is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant for a secondary school in Hamilton Square, Liverpool. You will work with pupils with a range of SEN, providing 1:1 and small-group support both academically and pastorally.

The role requires patience, adaptability, and a passion for helping pupils overcome barriers to learning. A Level 2/3 TA qualification is desirable, with DBS updates encouraged.

Qualifications

• Experience with children or young people with SEN is desirable.
• Experience in a secondary school or similar setting is advantageous.
• Understanding of ASD, ADHD, SEMH, communication and learning needs.
• Calm, patient, nurturing approach.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Flexible and adaptable to pupils' individual needs.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.

Responsabilités

• Provide classroom support to secondary pupils with SEN needs.
• Support pupils on a 1:1 and small-group basis academically and pastorally.
• Work closely with teachers to deliver engaging and differentiated learning activities.
• Encourage positive behaviour, emotional regulation and social development.
• Assist with EHCP targets and personalised learning strategies.
• Build positive relationships and support safeguarding procedures.
• Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, pastoral staff, parents/carers, and external professionals.
