Job summary

TeacherActive partners with a well-established Further Education college in Northampton to appoint a permanent Higher Level Learning Support Assistant. You will join a supportive environment, working 37 hours weekly from September 2026, helping students access the curriculum and delivering targeted interventions.

The role requires experience with SEN, strong communication, and the ability to work both independently and within a team to support learners and provide class cover when needed.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting young people with Special Educational Needs in education.
• Experience delivering learning interventions and supporting student progress.
• Knowledge of EHCPs and inclusive learning practices.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a wider support team.

Responsibilities

• Support students with SEN to access the curriculum and participate in lessons.
• Deliver targeted interventions to support progression.
• Assist with EHCPs and pastoral support arrangements.
• Prepare learning resources to support learner needs.
• Provide class cover for teaching staff when required.
