Job summary

Plessey in Plymouth is seeking a Senior Equipment Engineer to provide leadership for semiconductor tools, driving uptime, yield, reliability, and process stability across the Films technology teams. You will own end-to-end tool performance, collaborate with process, maintenance, and external vendors, and champion continuous improvement.

The role requires hands-on semiconductor equipment experience, ability to read schematics, and a proactive, safety-conscious approach in a fast-paced fab

Qualifications

• HNC (or equivalent) in Electrical, Electronic, or Mechanical Engineering.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, circuit diagrams and technical drawings.
• Proven tool ownership with uptime, yield support and PM experience.
• Experience in cleanroom environments and adherence to EHS standards.

Responsibilities

• Own assigned tools end-to-end, including uptime and process stability.
• Monitor equipment performance and address issues to maximise efficiency.
• Collaborate with process, maintenance, production, facilities, quality and external vendors.
• Maintain documentation and ensure spare parts availability.
• Drive continuous improvement to keep tools in peak condition.
• Assist installation, qualification and integration of new tools into fab operations.
