Job summary

Carrington West is seeking a Senior Security Systems Engineer/Consultant to manage formal interfaces across major rail projects, blending physical and electronic security with structured design and risk management.

You will coordinate across Access Control, CCTV, Intruder Detection, and Video Management Systems, ensuring interfaces are documented and integrated into the wider programme. Hybrid work is offered with offices in Birmingham or London.

Qualifications

• Strong experience with physical and electronic security systems including Access Control, CCTV and Intruder Detection
• Experience coordinating interfaces and managing formal interface documentation and processes
• Experience within structured design and engineering management processes
• Ability to identify, record, assess and escalate project or technical risks with impact and likelihood
• Experience with technical change control and assessing wider impacts of engineering changes
• Experience reviewing contractor designs and delivering engineering assurance
• Understanding of Technical Queries and formal contractor communications
• Ability to translate technical issues for non-technical stakeholders
• Knowledge of relevant security standards and interface with infrastructure systems

Responsibilities

• Coordinate interfaces across contractors, disciplines and work packages
• Review contractor designs and deliverables and provide engineering assurance
• Manage formal interface documentation and interface control processes
• Escalate and communicate project risks and changes to project and commercial teams
• Ensure security systems (Access Control, CCTV, IDS) integrate into wider railway infrastructure
