Job summary

AJ Bell is seeking a Senior Information Security Engineer to back the CISO in reducing information security risks across Technology Services. You’ll design, build and improve security controls, platforms and infrastructure for AJ Bell and its customers, ensuring security is scalable, automated and effective.

Qualifications

• Proven experience implementing enterprise security platforms.
• Strong knowledge of risk management tools and techniques.
• Deep understanding of security solutions (e.g. SIEM, PAM, IGA, endpoint protection, email/web gateways).
• Experience with firewall technologies (desirable).
• Knowledge of cloud security standards and solutions (desirable).
• Solid grasp of core IT and networking principles.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, delivery and ongoing improvement of enterprise security solutions across endpoint, cloud, network and monitoring environments.
• Design and implement secure infrastructure controls for scalability, resilience and operational effectiveness.
• Evaluate and implement new security tools driving automation and measurable value.
• Lead adoption of new security technologies and ensure long‑term sustainability.
• Oversee patch management and secure configuration initiatives with related teams.
• Provide security oversight across projects and change initiatives.
• Support audits, regulatory reviews and due diligence with robust evidence and controls.
• Act as technical link between CISO and Infrastructure teams to align security and operations.
• Contribute to ongoing cybersecurity risk management maturity across the organisation.
