Job summary

Hartmore School in Rudford is seeking an experienced teacher to join our specialist provision for girls aged 11–18 with SEMH needs. You will teach in a bespoke, trauma-informed setting, shaping a calm, structured classroom and developing a personalised curriculum within a nurturing rural environment.

You must have QTS with a completed 2-year ECT induction and at least 3 years of post-qualification teaching.

Qualifications

• Qualified teacher status with an completed ECT induction.
• At least 3 years of teaching experience after qualification.
• Ability to teach across the secondary curriculum and build effective relationships.
• Experience supporting SEMH or SEND learners in a trauma-informed setting.
• Strong safeguarding knowledge and excellent communication.

Responsibilities

• Plan and teach differentiated GCSE/Functional Skills lessons for girls aged 11–18.
• Lead a specialist subject across the school (ideally Maths, Science or Art).
• Track pupil progress and contribute to EHCP reviews and planning.
• Create a calm, structured, safe classroom environment with trauma-informed practice.
• Support wellbeing and transitions, including post-16 options.
