Job summary

CatSci is seeking a Senior Scientist/Associate Principal Scientist (Process Chemistry) to join our team in Cardiff. You will work on client programmes, apply technical expertise in late-stage process chemistry, and deliver high-quality experimental work with collaboration and mentoring.

This hands-on role offers opportunity to lead project work, design experiments, troubleshoot, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, safety, and scientific excellence.

Qualifications

• Degree in a relevant scientific discipline (BSc, MSc or PhD).
• Strong experimental design and data interpretation skills.
• Ability to work independently and lead other scientists on project work.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects/work packages for clients under guidance of a senior manager.
• Design and execute experiments, interpret results and draw conclusions.
• Troubleshoot and solve technical challenges.
• Deliver project milestones to timelines and quality standards.
• Present data clearly to project teams and clients (written and verbal).
• Mentor more junior scientists.
• Contribute to a collaborative, high-performing team culture.
• Maintain high standards of documentation, data integrity and laboratory safety.
