Job summary

IQVIA in Cambridge is seeking a Principal Scientist in Pharmaceutical Development to lead developability studies, integrate physicochemical, biopharmaceutic and formulation data, and apply AI-enabled approaches to de-risk candidates from discovery to development. You will drive scientific strategy, mentor junior scientists and collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to deliver client-focused solutions.

You will lead projects, engage with clients, and help shape IQVIA's developing capabilities

Qualifications

• Postgraduate degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry or related discipline.
• Extensive industrial R&D experience supporting developability assessment and candidate progression.
• Strong knowledge of drug discovery and development processes.
• Experience mentoring junior colleagues.
• Ability to communicate complex scientific data to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design, oversee and interpret developability studies to support candidate progression.
• Integrate physicochemical, solid-state, biopharmaceutic and formulation data to inform development decisions.
• Apply digital, computational and AI-enabled approaches to support developability risk assessment and literature insight.
• Translate AI-supported insights into robust recommendations for drug discovery teams.
• Lead pharmaceutical development projects from proposal through delivery.
• Act as primary scientific contact for client programmes.
• Mentor and develop junior scientists.
• Contribute to growth of the Pharmaceutical Development group.
