Job summary

IQVIA Cambridge is seeking a Principal Scientist in Pharmaceutical Development to lead developability studies, integrate experimental and AI-enabled data, and guide candidate progression. The role blends scientific leadership with client-facing activities across discovery and development programmes.

The successful candidate will mentor junior scientists, drive project delivery, and shape the strategic direction of the Pharmaceutical Development group at IQVIA.

Qualifications

• Significant industrial experience in pharmaceutical development or drug discovery.
• Experience designing and interpreting developability, preformulation or formulation studies.
• Strong knowledge of physicochemical and biopharmaceutic and drug delivery principles.
• Ability to integrate experimental, computational and AI-enabled approaches to support developability decisions.
• Proven track record leading scientific projects and influencing direction.
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
• Postgraduate degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences or related field.

Responsibilities

• Design, oversee and interpret developability studies to support candidate progression.
• Lead pharmaceutical development projects from proposal through delivery.
• Act as the primary scientific contact for client programmes.
• Mentor and develop junior scientists.
• Support business development through scientific proposals and client discussions.
