Cancer Research UK’s Cancer Research Horizons seeks a Senior Scientist to lead biochemical and biophysics work in Mechanistic Pharmacology. You will design, execute, and analyse assays, characterise target mechanisms, and drive SAR/SKR data to inform project decisions.

This role focuses on biochemical approaches within a multidisciplinary team. Based at Babraham/Cambridge, you will collaborate with external partners, mentor scientists, and contribute to advancing portfolio objectives in a

Competenze

BSc, MSc or PhD in biochemistry or in vitro pharmacology (relevant experience may be substituted for education).
Significant research experience in an industrial drug discovery environment.
Proven expertise in using mechanistic enzymology to characterise novel targets.
Extensive understanding of biochemical assay technologies, including kinetic profiling.
Significant experience of assay development for a range of target classes.
Significant experience of characterising small molecules.

Mansioni

Provide practical scientific leadership for molecular characterisation of cancer targets and in vitro characterisation of small molecules using biochemical assays.
Drive detailed kinetic and mechanism of inhibition studies and translate findings to cellular context.
Design and implement biochemical strategies and cascades to support characterisation of novel small molecules and generate SAR/SKR data.
