Senior Scientist- Accelerator Mass Spectrometry (AMS)

We are looking for:

To continue our growth as a premier Contract Research Organisation, Pharmaron is opening a new Accelerator Mass Spectrometry (AMS) Laboratory at our Hoddesdon site. We are seeking a Senior Scientist to join this new team. In this role, you will manage clinical AMS-enabled studies, including mass balance, metabolite profiling and identification, and IVPK (absolute bioavailability).

Key roles and responsibilities:

  • Act as analytical project manager for mass balance, metabolite profiling and identification, and IVPK studies.
  • Prepare analytical work plans, study reports, and SOPs as required.
  • Gain hands-on experience with the analytical techniques and procedures involved in AMS-enabled clinical studies.
  • Take full responsibility for conducting experimental work to meet study timelines.
  • Review study data, prepare summaries, and update reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Contribute to review and QC checks of data packages and reports prior to submission.
  • Collaborate with other AMS teams and stakeholders.
  • Work closely with clinical sites and clients to meet timelines and requirements.
  • Plan work to meet revenue milestones and address issues proactively.
  • Participate in client visits and teleconferences.
  • Address findings from QA audits and inspections.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and efficiency within the global AMS and metabolism teams.
  • Build and lead a high-performing, passionate team by managing objectives and mentoring junior members.

Requirements:

  • PhD, MSc, or BSc (Hons) in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Physics, or related field.
  • Experience managing analytical studies within a GxP environment.
  • Experience in drug discovery and/or development projects.
  • Managing external collaborations.
  • Experience supporting Phase I trials (e.g., hADME / SAD / MAD) is desirable.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Effective problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Flexible mindset with initiative-taking ability.
