Job summary

Talentmark are recruiting a Senior Scientist for a 12-month contract based at our Sandwich, Kent site. The role focuses on biopharmaceutics modelling and simulation, using Simcyp/GastroPlus to predict oral absorption and bioequivalence. Strong modelling skills and regulatory documentation experience are essential.

You will work with lab teams to interpret in vitro data, develop dissolution methods, and present results in scientific reports and regulatory submissions. DBS check may be required.

Qualifications

• PhD or MSc in Pharmaceutical Sciences or related field.
• Experience with PBPK/PBBM, pharmacometrics, or model-informed drug development.

Responsibilities

• Develop and apply PBPK/PBBM models using Simcyp, GastroPlus or similar.
• Predict oral absorption, dissolution, and bioavailability.
• Run model calibration, sensitivity analyses, and uncertainty assessments.
• Collaborate with lab scientists on in vitro study design and interpretation.
• Present modelling outcomes in reports and regulatory documents.

Talentmark are recruiting for a Senior Scientist to join a company in the pharmaceutical industry on a contract basis for 12 months. This role is Site-based, in Sandwich, Kent.

Salary:

Up to £20.66 per hour (PAYE) or £23.15 per hour (Umbrella)

Senior Scientist (Biopharmaceutics Modelling & Simulation) Role:

• Develop and apply PBBM/PBPK models using Simcyp, GastroPlus, or similar software.
• Predict oral absorption, food effect, bioavailability, and virtual bioequivalence.
• Run model calibration, sensitivity analysis, and uncertainty assessments.
• Work with lab scientists to design and interpret in vitro studies.
• Support development of clinically relevant dissolution methods.
• Present modelling outcomes in reports, presentations, and regulatory documents.

Your Background:

• PhD or MSc in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biopharmaceutics, Pharmacokinetics, or related field.
• Expertise in PBPK, PBBM, pharmacometrics, or model-informed drug development.
• Strong grasp of oral absorption, dissolution, permeability, and pharmacokinetics.
• Hands-on experience with Simcyp, GastroPlus, PK-Sim, or similar platforms.
• Strong scientific communication skills, with evidence of publications/presentations and regulatory submission experience.
• Desirable: knowledge of Python/R/MATLAB, machine learning/data science experience, and exposure to multiple drug modalities (poorly soluble compounds, peptides, complex dosage forms).
