Job summary

The Ramsey Academy is seeking a Senior Science Technician to provide efficient support to the Science Faculty, delivering all aspects of the curriculum. The role requires a flexible, well-organised candidate with strong planning and time management to support teachers and students.

30 hours per week, part-time and permanent, with a pay range aligned to Scale 5 (Points 8–11). DBS checks and safeguarding are standard, and the academy aims to develop staff careers within Bridge Academy Trust.

Qualifications

• Experience of working in a laboratory setting is essential.
• Excellent planning and time management skills are required.
• Flexible and well organised individual with the ability to manage multiple tasks.

• Operate and maintain the preparation rooms.
• Timely and effective preparation and delivery of substances, equipment and resources.

About the role:

The Trust is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic Senior Science Technician to provide efficient and reliable support to the teachers in the Science Faculty delivering all aspects of the curriculum.

We are looking for a flexible and well organised individual. The successful candidate will need excellent planning and time management skills to efficiently carry out the duties listed in the job description.

The responsibilities include:

• The operation and maintenance of the preparation rooms.
• Timely and effective preparation and delivery of substances, equipment and resources.
• The controlling of stock and placing orders to ensure all teaching and learning needs are met.
• To provide support during lessons with practical demonstrations when needed.

Experience of working in a laboratory setting is essential.
