Job summary

St James CE High (Farnworth) is seeking a Senior Science Technician to support the Science department with practical resources and facilities, working under the Head of Science. The role is term-time style with a permanent contract and a full-time equivalent of 37 hours per week.

The ideal candidate will have experience with 11–16 age groups in education, strong communication skills with pupils, parents and staff, and the resilience to adapt to demanding school environments.

Qualifications

  • Experience of working with children aged 11–16 in an education setting.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with pupils, parents and staff.
  • Demonstrate personal resilience and willingness to be flexible to meet role demands.

YOUR MAIN DUTIES WOULD BE:
  • Under the overall control of the Head of Science, to co-ordinate the use of practical resources and facilities and providing assistance and advice in meeting the practical needs of the Science curriculum, including liaising with teaching staff and support staff outside of the department.
