Job summary

The Methodist Church in Britain is seeking a Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist to join the schools team in Westminster and Kensington and Chelsea on a fixed-term basis until August 2028. You will assess and treat children with speech, language and communication needs, supervise junior staff, and deliver training for school staff.

Candidates should have HCPC and RCSLT registration and experience under the Children and Families Act 2014, with collaboration across professionals to support

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal skills with listening and empathy.
• Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
• Understanding of education policy including the Children and Families Act 2014.

Responsibilities

• Assess and deliver SLT treatment for children with diverse needs.
• Analyse communication aspects and identify strategies to improve home/school performance.
• Make clinical decisions using evidence-based practice within care plans.
• Supervise less experienced colleagues and run staff training.
• Work with parents, carers and school staff to support access to the curriculum.
