Job summary

Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust is recruiting a Specialist Speech and Language Therapist (Band 6) to join the SLT education service on a fixed-term contract until August 2028.

The post covers Westminster and Kensington and Chelsea, working with a specialist SLCN teacher, teaching assistants, parents and school staff to develop children's speech, language and communication skills and access to the curriculum.

Qualifications

• Experience providing SLT assessments and interventions in educational settings.
• Ability to supervise peers and contribute to training for school staff.
• Commitment to evidence-based practice and outcome measurement.

Responsibilities

• Assess and treat children with speech, language and communication needs.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents and other professionals to support the curriculum.
• Provide day-to-day supervision and peer review for colleagues and students.
• Develop and deliver training for schools and staff.
• Make clinical decisions based on assessment and outcome measures.
