Job summary

Portfolio Group is recruiting for a Senior Payroll Administrator to join a busy Newcastle-based school/academy payroll operation. The role focuses on end-to-end payroll processing, LGPS reporting, and liaising with pension funds and HMRC.

Hybrid working is available with progression opportunities within an established firm. The ideal candidate will have school payroll experience, knowledge of LGPS and i-Connect submissions, and familiarity with MCR processing.

Qualifications

• Demonstrable experience processing school and/or academy payrolls end-to-end.
• Working knowledge of the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) reporting requirements.
• Experience producing and submitting i-Connect files to LGPS funds.
• Familiarity with Monthly Contributions Return (MCR) processing and submission.

Responsibilities

• Process outsourced payroll accurately and on time.
• Deliver end-to-end payroll administration for clients.
• Liaise with HMRC and pension funds as required.
• Handle enrolements and timesheet data.
• Ensure compliance with statutory legislation and regulatory changes.
• Provide general payroll administration support as needed.
