Job summary

Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a qualified Specialist Public Health Nurse (School Nursing) to join the 0-19 team in Reading. The role is 30 hours per week, year round, with a four-day working pattern and 9am-5pm hours.

You will be an enthusiastic School Nurse with leadership experience, delivering core and targeted services to children aged 5-19 and their families, and working closely with Health Visiting colleagues.

Qualifications

• A Registered Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (School Nursing) active on the NMC register.
• High standard of clinical work and ability to develop and maintain trusting relationships with children/young people.
• Car driver with ability and readiness to travel to multiple sites.
• Ability to manage a defined caseload independently and deliver core/targeted services.

Responsibilities

• Delivering school drop-in sessions to targeted schools (primary and senior).
• Manage and organise a defined caseload independently addressing health needs.
• Undertake in-depth health assessments for Children in Care and vulnerable children.
• Ensure effective use of resources within the team by delegation and efficient use of resources.
• Provide targeted health interventions to children and young people with identified health needs.
• Exercise leadership, judgment and management to ensure high standards of care.
