Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust in East Berkshire is recruiting a Children’s Nurse to join our Community Children’s Nursing Team in Slough. You will provide specialist nursing care in homes, schools, respite settings, and clinics, working with families and multidisciplinary colleagues to achieve the best outcomes.

The role is a full-time fixed-term for 12 months (37.5 hours/week) with core hours 9:00–17:00, Monday to Friday; part-time hours may be considered.

Qualifications

• Qualified Children’s Nurse.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of children and young people with complex health needs within the community.
• Deliver high-quality, specialist nursing care in homes, schools, respite settings and clinics.
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate care programmes in partnership with families and other professionals.
• Provide training and competency assessments for parents, carers and care providers in clinical procedures.
• Support children requiring complex interventions including enteral feeding, suction, oxygen therapy and specialist equipment.
• Work collaboratively with health, education and social care professionals to coordinate care.
• Participate in safeguarding activities, risk assessments and clinical governance processes.
• Contribute to rapid response services and support transition planning for young people moving to adult services.
• Support, supervise and develop junior staff and students.
