Job summary

The Maples Group is seeking a Senior Sanctions Analyst to join our Group Compliance team, based in London or other eligible locations. The role focuses on sanctions risk assessment, advisory support, and case management across the global office network.

You will work with Legal and Compliance teams to ensure alignment with UN, UK, EU, US regimes and local rules. Ideal candidates have exposure to trade sanctions, financial crime and sanctions screening tools, plus strong analytical and

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of international sanctions regimes, including US OFAC, UK OFSI, EU frameworks.
• Experience in sanctions, financial crime, compliance operations or risk analysis.
• Experience administering sanctions screening systems, alert triage and case documentation.
• Strong analytical skills to review ownership structures and draw conclusions.
• Excellent written communication for concise analyses and escalation notes.
• Good organizational skills and cross-team collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate sanctions analysis and provide internal advisory support to businesses and compliance teams.
• Assess sanctions risk for potential clients, counterparties and jurisdictions.
• Prepare written recommendations and escalation summaries for senior stakeholders.
• Maintain sanctions case files, audit trails and documentation for reviews and decisions.
• Monitor sanctions regimes and support updates to group policies and guidance.
