Job summary

The Economist seeks a Distinguished Salesforce Engineer to sustain and grow the Salesforce Engineering team, guiding technical direction and elevating standards across teams. This role reports to the Head of Salesforce Engineering and requires deep Salesforce expertise and a proven track record in enterprise architecture.

You will define long-term architecture, resolve high-risk decisions, and partner with multiple teams to ensure scalable, secure integrations.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in software engineering/architecture, with significant depth in the Salesforce ecosystem (Core Platform, Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Marketing Cloud Engagement/Next, Data Cloud).
• Proven track record architecting large-scale, multi-cloud, or multi-system enterprise solutions.
• Deep expertise in enterprise integration patterns, event-driven architecture, data modeling, and platform governance at scale.

Responsibilities

• Define and evolve the long-term technical architecture strategy for Salesforce and its integration with enterprise systems.
• Lead architecture of large initiatives spanning multiple clouds and non-Salesforce systems.
• Mentor senior engineers and architects, raising the technical bar across the organisation.
