Job Description

The Role: Working as part of the ION EMEA Commodities Account Management team, Senior Sales Managers act as the primary point of contact between ION and new customers. Senior Sales Managers are responsible for creating new relationships with key stakeholders at all levels within a portfolio of new accounts, to generate sales of products and services.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Sell products, services, and solutions offered by ION Commodities.
  2. Meet/exceed annual targets for license and consulting services (between $2M-$4M annually).
  3. Manage the business relationship between ION and clients to achieve new sales and services revenue goals and book the clients’ current Annual Contract Value (ACV).
  4. Manage all aspects of the sales cycle.
  5. Create Commercial Proposals and supporting documentation through liaising with other departments such as Professional Services and Corporate Sales.
  6. Ensure client gets optimum value from the product and achieve client satisfaction.
  7. Assist in accuracy of invoicing and debt collection in conjunction with the sales support organization.
  8. Coordinate opportunity team members for deals, including product specialists, pre-sales consultants, and other SMEs.
  9. Perform other tasks as role expands.
Required Skills, Experience, and Qualifications
  1. Hunter/Relationship building mentality – developing existing and cultivating new relationships within the accounts, identifying and closing opportunities.
  2. Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal English communication skills.
  3. Strong client-facing/executive presence/influencing capability.
  4. Desire to work within a team-oriented environment.
  5. Previous sales experience, with new business development experience within commodities trade and risk management arena.
Preferred Qualifications
  1. Experience in strategic selling methodology.
  2. Strong grasp of English; additional EMEA languages are a plus.
  3. Experience with CTRM solutions (e.g., Openlink, Allegro, Triple Point, Aspect) across EMEA Power, Gas, LNG, Oil, Petrochemicals, Metals, and commodities.
  4. Bachelor’s degree in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics.
Desirable Skills
  1. Experience of complex cross-commodities CTRM sales cycles.
  2. Experience with CTRM systems in European power and gas markets.
  3. Bulk and liquids experience is desirable.
