SGN is seeking a Senior Risk & Policy Manager to provide strategic oversight of Safety Risk, policy governance, and resource deployment within a hybrid London/UK-based role. You will shape interventions, align with the Safety Management System (SMS), and deliver measurable risk reduction across the organisation.

You will lead a team of Risk & Policy Leads, translate complex assurance findings into actionable policy, and influence senior leadership with evidence-based insights.

Formación

• NEBOSH National Diploma (or equivalent) & Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, Risk Management or related discipline – or significant equivalent working experience
• Deep expertise in Safety Management Systems (SMS), specifically policy governance and assurance
• A mastery of risk-based prioritisation and scoring to guide strategic resource allocation
• The ability to translate complex assurance findings into actionable policy or treatment plans
• High-level influencing skills, with the confidence to advise and challenge senior leadership using evidence-based insights
• 6+ years’ experience in high-risk, regulated industries (Gas or Utilities experience is highly advantageous)
• A proven track record of leading strategic safety or enterprise-level risk programmes
• Experience managing senior specialists and navigating third-party safety resource partnerships
• Direct experience embedding assurance insights into SMS and risk framework improvements

Responsabilidades

• Strategic leadership by taking full ownership of the SGN Safety Risk operating model and deploying expertise where risk is greatest
• Overseeing policy adoption and assurance outputs to ensure high-standard safety domains across the business
• Designing and delivering a multi-year roadmap for specialist risk interventions aligned with SMS and engineering standards
• Providing senior leadership with evidence-based insights on risk and resource allocation
• Leading and inspiring Risk & Policy Leads to tie performance to strategic safety outcomes
