Job summary

Arcadis is seeking a Principal Safety and Reliability Engineering Consultant to lead safety, reliability and risk activities across complex, mission‑critical projects. You will guide RAM analyses, safety cases and hazard assessments while mentoring junior staff and supporting bids.

You will act as a trusted technical advisor to clients, ensuring outputs meet standards and regulatory requirements across rail, energy and infrastructure sectors.

Qualifications

Significant experience in safety, reliability or risk engineering roles within safety‑critical industries.
Experience developing safety cases, hazard reports and RAM plans.
Knowledge of CSM/ROGS and BS EN 50126/50128/50129 is a plus.
Ability to chair or contribute to structured risk workshops (HAZID/HAZOP).
Strong communication to explain complex concepts to clients and teams.

Responsibilities

Provide technical leadership across safety, reliability and risk activities on complex projects.
Lead and review safety/reliability deliverables, risk assessments, and RAM documentation.
Develop safety arguments and justifications to support design decisions.
Coach and mentor junior consultants within the SRM team.
Support work-winning activities and client relationship development.
