This is an exciting opportunity for someone with experience in UK MoD Safety and Environmental processes to join the business.

Marshall Land Systems is a key partner in a UK consortium designing, developing, deploying, and supporting new electronic systems for the UK MoD, providing critical capabilities for UK Armed service personnel. Your role will be to ensure these systems are developed and deployed with appropriate safety and environmental engineering rigor.

You will work as part of a CORE management team, acting as an extension of the UK MoD safety and environmental team. Drawing on your experience in safety and environmental engineering, you will advise and assure UK MoD and oversee teams developing cutting-edge equipment. Travel within the UK will be required.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Establishing and maintaining project Safety and Environmental Management Systems (SEMS) for defense contracts, in accordance with current and future defense S&E policies, legislation, and regulations, including maintaining a Safety and Environmental Management Plan (SEMP) throughout the project.
• Being the principal point of contact for all Safety and Environmental matters with customer stakeholders and internal project teams.
• Implementing and maintaining the Safety and Environmental Management System (SEMS) based on current defense policies, particularly the MOD ASEMS.
• Monitoring and reporting progress against safety and environmental targets and objectives.
• Serving as the lead contact for all S&E matters with the customer stakeholder community.
• Advising on technical solutions to manage safety hazards and environmental impacts.
• Conducting internal S&E audits and supporting audits with ecosystem members and stakeholders.
• Liaising with Independent Safety and Environmental Assessors (ISEAs) for audits and documentation support.
• Ensuring timely delivery of Safety and Environmental Plans, Assessments, and reports.
• Maintaining current knowledge of ASEMS and related standards, regulations, and legislation.
• Supporting Safety and Environmental Engineers in delivering case reports and assessments.
• Planning and supporting Safety and Environmental Working Groups and managing Project Safety and Environmental Panel (PSEP) meetings.
• Conducting S&E audits and supporting independent auditors.
• Investigating safety incidents and recommending continuous improvements.

• Experience managing stakeholders across a consortium.
• Experience using e-Cassandra for defense safety hazard logs.
• Experience managing environmental impacts.
• Understanding of ASEMS, POSMS, POEMS, and relevant DEFSTAN standards.
• Knowledge of applicable defense guidance and legislation across the CADMID lifecycle.
• Experience applying IEC 61508 and SILs to systems.
• Knowledge of RADHAZ management.
• Experience managing S&E for electronic systems, especially programmable elements.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience delivering defense projects aligned with ASEMS.
• Ability to obtain UK MoD Security Clearance.

Based in the UK, Marshall also operates in Canada, specializing in designing and producing deployable operational infrastructure and mission support for humanitarian, defense, and security operations worldwide.

Core services include integrating complex systems into military vehicles, including explosive ordnance disposal and battlefield ambulances, with full in-life support to ensure equipment availability.
