Qualifications

• HND/Degree (or equivalent) in electrical/electronic engineering.
• Chartered or Incorporated Engineer with membership (or working towards membership).
• Experience of safety and systems engineering in a safety regulated industry.
• Knowledge of safety system design in accordance with IEC 61508 or similar standards.
• Awareness of systems engineering processes and methodologies (e.g., IEC 15288, UML).
• Knowledge of DOORS for requirements management.

Responsibilities

• Provide safety engineering support to projects and bids.
• Draft and estimate safety engineering aspects for bid work.
• Apply appropriate safety engineering practice on projects.
• Generate and maintain high quality safety documentation and obtain formal review approval.
• Lead safety representations to project/customer communities.
• Mentor junior engineers and graduates on safety engineering matters.
• Provide technical leadership in designated areas for the team and company.
• Draft concise technical reports and requirements specifications as required.
• Support other engineering disciplines as needed (design, production, test).
• Contribute to development and improvement of engineering processes.
