Job summary

Amentum is recruiting a Safety Engineer with extensive experience in safety justification to join our Defence & Security team. You will develop safety cases for nuclear operations, present to regulators, and support life-cycle from concept to decommissioning across UK sites.

The role requires knowledge of DBA and PSA, leading safety case development for civil or naval installations, and ability to obtain security clearance.

Qualifications

• STEM degree required; Chartered status is desirable.
• Experience with nuclear safety or safety case management is essential.
• Ability to obtain security clearance and operate in a regulated nuclear environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, implement, and deliver safety case documentation for nuclear operations.
• Present safety case documents to regulators and licensees on behalf of senior management.
• Maintain safety case systems and develop procedures for review of safety standards.
