Job summary

La Fosse is partnering with a prestigious national charity to appoint a Senior Safeguarding Consultant to lead the development and implementation of a modern, proportionate safeguarding framework. This is a strategic, governance-focused assignment rather than routine case work.

You will design and embed organisational safeguards across programmes, events and international activity, build internal capability and transition the framework to in-house management with ongoing fractional advisory

Qualifications

• Senior safeguarding leadership experience.
• Experience designing organisation-wide safeguarding frameworks.
• Strong understanding of Charity Commission safeguarding expectations.
• Experience in complex organisations (charities/not-for-profit/international NGOs).
• Experience safeguarding across diverse stakeholders (staff, volunteers, beneficiaries, partners).
• Knowledge of international safeguarding considerations and third-party assurance.
• Confidence engaging with senior executives, boards and trustees.

Responsibilities

• Lead discovery and develop a prioritised implementation roadmap.
• Review safeguarding policies, governance and escalation processes.
• Embed safeguarding across programmes, events, risk assessments and partnerships.
• Develop proportionate safeguarding arrangements for international activities.
• Establish reporting, assurance and case management processes for senior leadership.
• Design and support safeguarding training, building an internal network of safeguarding champions.
• Work with senior stakeholders to drive engagement and continuous improvement.
• Transition the safeguarding framework into business as usual with ongoing fractional support.
