Job summary

WEIR is seeking a Release Train Engineer (RTE) to lead large-scale Agile programmes within a UK setting. The role focuses on SAFe implementation, PI Planning, and cross-team collaboration across multiple engineering teams.

The RTE will drive delivery while maintaining a safety-first culture and close alignment with product management. The position offers hybrid work with a preference for Glasgow-based or UK remote arrangements, and involves minimal travel to key locations.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading large-scale Agile programmes with multiple teams.
• Expertise in SAFe, Agile, and Lean with strong facilitation for PI Planning and ART ceremonies.
• Strong cross-team dependency, risk, and stakeholder management.
• Excellent communication, servant-leadership, coaching, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and facilitate PI Planning and major ART ceremonies.
• Drive execution of PI objectives across the ART.
• Coordinate planning, sequencing, and delivery across multiple Agile teams.
• Identify, manage, and communicate cross-team dependencies.
• Maintain visibility of risks and implement mitigation strategies.
• Coach leaders, teams, Scrum Masters, and Agile practitioners in SAFe, Agile, and Lean.
• Promote DevOps practices and continuous improvement across the ART.
• Align with Product Management and stakeholders on product vision, roadmaps, and PI objectives.
• Communicate progress, risks, dependencies, and outcomes to Business Owners, executives, and delivery stakeholders.
• Travel required: minimal; hybrid work with occasional visits.
• Emphasise safety culture and zero-harm in daily operations.
