Senior Rocket Motor Design Lead

Job summary

Roxel UK seeks a permanent Senior Design Authority to drive rocket motor design evolution from concept to production, reporting to the Design Authority Team Leader within Development. You will lead critical DFMEA activities and ensure manufacturability while meeting customer requirements.

The role requires coordinating with customers and prime contractors, approving production processes, and delivering technical reports and presentations.

Qualifications

• Minimum HND or equivalent in mechanical/aeronautical/physics or equivalent demonstrable experience.
• Experience in safety-critical products and defence standards (e.g., DEF STAN 07-085).
• Proven ability to lead design reviews and coordinate cross-functional teams.
• Knowledge of DFMEA, design to cost and design for manufacture principles.

Responsibilities

• Promote zero harm and comply with HSE policies for staff safety.
• Lead design evolution to meet customer requirements and approvals.
• Approve production processes, tooling and validation testing.
• Lead formal design reviews (PDR, DDR, CDR) and ensure timely actions.
• Interface with customers and missile prime contractors (MBDA, Thales, SAAB)
