Job summary

Ocean Infinity is seeking a Senior Robotics Engineer to design, build and integrate core robotics software across our fleet of uncrewed vessels. This senior technical role blends hands-on engineering with system-level architecture, hardware integration and technical leadership.

Qualifications

• MSc/PhD in robotics, mechatronics, computer science, or related field.
• Strong C++ production-quality coding experience.
• Willing to travel occasionally for integration and deployments.
• Experience with ROS2 in production/field deployments.
• Hardware integration with sensors, actuators, PLCs and embedded controllers.
• Knowledge of industrial automation protocols: Modbus, TCP/IP, UDP, CAN.
• Linux development environment and CI/CD understanding.
• Git, code reviews and testing practices.
• Pragmatic engineering balancing quality and delivery.

Responsibilities

• Design and build ROS2 nodes, services, actions, and launch configurations for vessel control, navigation and motion planning.
• Integrate robotics software with hardware—sensors, actuators, PLCs, embedded controllers, and third‑party systems.
• Build platform abstractions reusable across vessels and payloads, designed with extensibility in mind.
• Hands-on lab testing, integration work and field deployments to validate real conditions.
• Debug deployed systems using logs, telemetry and replay tooling, driving root causes.
• Review colleagues' code and designs, mentor teammates, and unblock integration tasks.
